Background & Educational Qualification
Ayaz Ahmad is Assistant Professor of Law at Glocal Law School. He completed B.A.LLB from Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) where he secured first position in the Departmental Merit Scholarship Test. He was also elected as Member of AMU Court from Faculty of Law. He got his LLM from Delhi University (DU) securing position in his batch. In addition he was elected as the President of Post Graduate Law Students Union, Faculty of Law, DU.
His LLM dissertation is first dissertation in the country on National Green Tribunal Act, 2010 slated to be a transformational legislation for environmental adjudication system in India. Mr. Ayaz qualified UGC NET and JRF in the very first attempt. Thereafter, he joined National Law University Odisha (NLUO) and taught for four semesters where he was consistently rated as the best law teacher by the students. At NLUO, he also conducted research to develop tools of imparting value based legal education and making the promise of professional ethics among different members of legal fraternity a reachable goal. There he also organized a One Day Workshop on "Role of Youth in Rule of Law: Issues of Democracy, Accountability, Transparency and Environment" in collaboration with Liberal Youth Forum (LYF) and in partnership with FNF Germany which was supported by Youth Development Foundation (YDF) and Orissa RTI Coalition.
Ayaz has participated in several national and international conferences, seminars and workshops. He was selected by the International Academy for Leadership, Germany through an On-line Seminar-cum-Competition from amongst 100 participants from all around the world to participate in an International Workshop in Germany. Member of Liberal Youth Forum he is working to promoting civil liberties and individual freedom. He also provides free legal aid to the poor and needy. Winner of numerous debate and essay writing competitions he takes active interest in politics, debates, cricket, chess, swimming, fishing, traveling, music and movies. So far he has taught Environmental Law, Law of Torts, Service Law and some selected parts of Constitutional Law, Public International Law, Civil Procedure Code and IPR. He also takes keen interest in Criminal Law (both IPC and CrPC), Economics, Political Science, and Civil Liberties.
