Dr. Amitra Sudan Chakrabortty is an Assistant Professor of Law at Glocal Law School. He has obtained his LL.B, LL.M with specialization in Business Laws and Ph.D on "Protection of Human Rights Defenders: a Study in Contemporary India" from the Department of Law, The University of Burdwan, West Bengal. After obtaining his LL.B degree he has enrolled himself as an Advocate with the State Bar Council, West Bengal and served the Bar as an Advocate for a period of five years. He has having more than nine years of teaching experience at University level.
He has participated and presented papers in several National and State Level seminars and workshops. He has also participated in several training programmes on Research Methodology. Being a Law student, Mr. Chakrabortty is very much conscious about his social responsibility and working voluntarily as Human Rights Defender since 2004 with great success stories in ensuring payment of compensation to the victims of Human Rights abuse as well as appropriate action by the state against the perpetrators of human rights abuse which includes both state and non-state actors. His areas of interest are Criminal Law, Corporate Law, Consumers Law, International Law, Human Rights and Humanitarian Laws and Research Methodology.
